We are currently looking for a Residential Children's Home Manager to manage a home for young people with challenging behaviour. You will manage the home in accordance with registration standards and the organisations policies and procedures.
You will ensure that staff are meeting the required standards of childcare, administration and attending staff training as required, offer a comprehensive residential service to young people, the aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional care and development of the young residents and the establishments.
To carry out duties in line with the organisations policies and equal opportunities by providing a safe, warm and supportive environment for the young residents.
To maintain the development of positive childcare practice in keeping with the aims and objectives of the employer.

Main Duties include:
Manage staff on a day-to-day basis in all areas of residential childcare.
To monitor the development of staff, identifying training needs.
Induction of new staff into the home's team.
Establish and maintain an on-call rota for the home ensuring adequate cover at all times.
To facilitate fortnightly staff meetings.
Maintain staff and client confidentiality.
Provide supervision for care staff.
To ensure that on admission young people have access to relevant information.
To liaise with placing authority to provide them with relevant information.

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience working in a managerial role in a residential children's home (deputy manager's will also be considered) and applicants must have NVQ4 in care.
